Silk City Fibers
Where Visionary Design Begins
At Silk City Fibers, we believe exceptional yarn sparks exceptional creativity. Since 1979, we’ve built our brand on trust, quality, and innovation — empowering textile artists and fashion designers at every level to bring bold ideas to life.
Born in Paterson, NJ — America’s original “Silk City” — our roots trace back to a family-owned silk spinning mill from the early 1900s. That legacy, combined with a future-focused approach, has made us a trusted partner to world-renowned names like Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein — and a favorite among today’s emerging designers, influencers, and students. In 2019, we entered an exciting new chapter by joining the Lion Brand Yarn family — combining our rich textile heritage with the reach and resources of one of the most iconic names in yarn.
Our yarns are crafted to inspire: over 50 unique styles, more than 1,000 stocked colors, and custom production options sourced from the most premium mills across the globe. From luxury rayon chenille to innovative blends and trend-setting textures, our fibers deliver elevated quality at a value that makes sense for makers, brands, and creative businesses alike.
